There are many ways in which birds can cause a nuisance. Not only are they noisy, messy and unhygienic but they can also give customers, staff and the general public a bad impression of your organisation.

Accumulations of bird droppings make for an unpleasant sight. Bird excrement also poses a significant health risk, there are over sixty known transmissible diseases associated with bird droppings including Histoplasmosis, Psittacosis and Salmonella. Many of these diseases can lead to significant and serious illness with several fatal cases recorded in the UK.

The many ledges, nooks and crannies typically found on man-made structures present an attractive and welcoming opportunity for birds to roost and make ideal spots for nest building activities.

Sticks, twigs, debris, deceased birds and carcasses can also cause issues by blocking gutter systems and rainwater goods.
